The second round of technical discussions on social security schemes is taking place in Tirana between the Albanian and Greek delegations. The Albanian delegation is led by Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy Olta Manjani, while the Greek delegation is led by Anna Rizou, Director of Insurance and Benefits.

The General Director of the Insurance Institute, Astrit Hado, gave a general presentation on how the social security scheme works and the reforms we have undertaken so far, with the aim of improving the services provided, Albanian state media reports.

This meeting, following the one held in Athens in September of last year, demonstrates the positive will of the parties to make possible the speedy achievement of a common agreement, which is highly desired by our fellow citizens.

The countries with which Albania has agreements in the field of social security are Hungary, Canada, Turkey, Belgium, Luxembourg, North Macedonia, the Czech Republic, the Federal Republic of Germany, Austria, Kosovo, and Montenegro.

Meanwhile, Albania is in the process of reaching agreements on social security with the Netherlands, Croatia, Romania, Greece, France, and Italy.
