Humans could reach 140 before this century is out, scientists say.

Experts say living past 120 could become the norm, with the lifespan limit "still a long way off".

Albanian Cardiologist Taulant Gishto said on the Good Morning Albanians show in Euronews, Albania, that the statistics say that 60 percent of those who broke the age limits several times were smokers.

"We must be optimistic that in the future there may be more longevity. The question is whether it is related to our genes or our lifestyle. Studies contradicting this showed that the individuals who lived the longest were not "Puritans", 60 percent of them were lifetime smokers. 35 percent of them were obese. So they were not the most puritanical individuals but they lived longer. Therefore, it was discovered that the genetic component was more decisive in this part", said the cardiologist.
