Through a press statement, SPAK (Special Prosecution of Albania) announced on Wednesday morning the arrest of the citizen G.Ç, who is accused of the criminal offense "incitement, public calls and propaganda for the commission of acts with terrorist purposes", provided for in Article 232/an of the Penal Code.
According to the media, the arrested person has distributed terrorist calls and radical content in support of the terrorist organization ISIS, as well as photographs of jihadists from the Islamic State, through several social media accounts with other names.
The distribution of content with extremist or radical characters constitutes a criminal offense and is punishable by imprisonment from four to ten years.
The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, in cooperation with the officers of the Antiterrorism Directorate of the Criminal Police, has decided to impose the personal security measure "arrest in prison" for the suspect.
