The Albanian Energy Exchange ALPEX officially started electricity trading today, becoming the second operational exchange in the region. In a special ceremony, the first auction was held in the day-advance market in Albania, while in the fall it is expected that Kosovo will also organize the first auction and the union of the two markets will be realized. The average selling price of energy for the next 24 hours was 130.98 euros/MWH, while the volumes sold are 7146.2 MWH, local media reports.
According to her, private energy producers will have the opportunity to compete with each other, benefiting from the stock market, but also giving the opportunity to the domestic industry and the international market to get electricity at the most competitive and lowest prices.
