The Kosovo Serb Party has announced that it will not participate in the April 23 local elections in the north of Kosovo.

The news was announced by the chairman of this party, Aleksandar Jabllanovic, Euronews reports.

In an extraordinary press conference, he said that the decision to withdraw was taken by the leadership of the party.

According to him, his party is withdrawing because there are no adequate conditions for holding the elections, and he has complained about the way they will be held, citing the fact that they will be held in containers and that security will be guaranteed by the Police Kosovo.

He said that there was no pressure to participate in the elections, although he expected something like that.

Jabllanovic called on all citizens not to go to the polls on Sunday.

This party has had only one candidate for chairman, Jabllanovic himself, and 20 candidates for Leposavic's municipal assembly.
