The Prosecutor's Office of Elbasan requested that Svetlana Timofeva not be extradited to Russia during the court session that was in charge of the Russian citizen who was accused of espionage.

The decision on whether he would be extradited was expected to be made today, but it was put off until April 14.

Timofeva herself has looked for refuge in Albania asserting that her life is in peril in Russia.

In the meantime, the Russian government has requested that this citizen be extradited to Russia, despite the fact that she is the subject of an investigation in our nation, first to the Ministry of Justice and then to the Prosecutor's Office of Elbasan.

Event:

On August 20, when the incident occurred at the plant, the two Russians, Svetlatana Timofoeva and Mikhail Zorin, and the Ukrainian, Fyodor Mihailovic, were arrested.

While attempting to enter the factory, the three photographers were spotted by Albanian soldiers, who requested that they stop.

The soldier was attacked by Mikhail Zorin, who sprayed him with what appeared to be a chemical spray. The car they were driving was seized while the three people were being detained.

They are now officially accused of "Providing information" and "Giving secret information." They were subjected to the security measure of "prison arrest" by the court.
