Dr. Eneida Toska left for the USA when she was 15 years old and completed her medical studies there. After completing her doctorate, she devoted herself to her laboratory. In an interview for "Abc of the morning", Eneida confessed how she managed to open "Toska Lab" at Johns Hopkins University.

After a training that lasted seven years, Eneida triumphed among the 5 percent of people who won the right to open a laboratory. Now, she works with many scientists from different fields who study and explore through research and innovation in epigenetics and new cancer therapies.

"It was the time during Covid-19 when John Hopkins had a big nam. I was between Harvard, Cambridge and Hopkins and I chose the latter as one of the oldest medical schools but also because there is a good culture of people here," she said about why she chose "John Hopkins" University.

While talking about cancer treatments, she confessed that thanks to studies, now the mortality of cancer types has decreased by 25%, while breast cancer has decreased by 45%. Asked if she will open a laboratory in Albania, she said that it is impossible as cooperation with scientists is needed.

"When I started my training we saw that some tumors were estrogen positive, when anti-estrogen drugs were used they increased another protein that increased the tumor. But when we combined the two treatments, the tumors died. We applied this to first, second and third stage patients.

And now this double cure against this gene was approved in America in 2019, and in 2020 it was approved in Europe," said Dr. Aeneid.
