The two Russian citizens, Mikhail Zorin and Svetlana Timofeeva, and the Ukrainian citizen Fiodor Mihailovich, who were arrested last summer after entering the Gramsh plant, have been released from prison, Euronews Albania reports.
Their release comes due to the expiration of the pretrial detention period.
The Elbasan Court has ordered mandatory appearances for the two Russian citizens and house arrest for the Ukrainian.
Mikhail Zorin, Svetlana Timofeeva, and Ukrainian Fiodor Mihailovich were taking photos of the premises at the Arms Factory when they attempted to enter. They were spotted by Albanian soldiers who signaled them to stop. They did not comply with the orders, and one of them, Mikhail Zorin, attacked them with a chemical spray.
The young individuals were arrested by the police and investigated as spies of the Russian secret service. Equipment used by espionage agents to photograph objects was found in their bags.
