Fatos Malaj, the Albanian candidate of PASOK, said in an interview with Euronews Albania that he aims to be the voice of Albanians in the Greek parliament.
Malaj stated that this is his second time running for PASOK, emphasizing that it is the only party in Greece that has done more for the rights of immigrants.
"This is my second time running, but I will be part of the race until I win and the voice of immigrants is heard. Our voice must be heard in the Greek parliament to represent the voice of immigrants first. I am focused on solving the problem of immigrants obtaining citizenship.
Changing the immigration code, which concerns residency permits, to reduce the time it takes for immigrants to receive them as quickly as possible. Changing the law on obtaining citizenship for the first generation, and for the second generation the delays in obtaining citizenship for 5-6 years, and PASOK has an online application in its plan to prevent the citizenship process from being prolonged.
Pension for the first generation of immigrants who came in the -90s, who are discriminated against, and according to the law, they must have 40 years in Greece to receive a pension, even though their obligations are the same as Greek citizens. I call on the second generation of immigrants to vote to enable the first generation of immigrants to obtain their rights, so that they do not remain without a pension and residency permit.
