Prime Minister Edi Rama was present at the opening of the restored Pyramid, saying that now, people will easily climb its sides with stairs, without the need to crawl, this symbol, according to the Prime Minister, of the difficulty of reaching the top.

Imagine that the back of this pyramid that will enter Guinness will hold millions of people," said Rama.

At the end of the Socialist Party's campaign at the Olympic Park, it was the mayor Veliaj who announced that the center for young people dedicated to digital and innovation would be opened this Thursday.

The pyramid will function for training, there will be libraries, halls where people can gather, halls where they can exhibit their works, and the TUMO center, a new kind of educational experience at the intersection of technology and design.

Standing proudly in the center of Tirana, Albania, the Pyramid of Enver Hoxha is a unique architectural structure that embodies the country's turbulent past. A Historical Icon:

Designed by a group of architects including Hoxha's daughter, Pranvera Hoxha, the pyramid was completed in 1988. Initially, it served as a museum showcasing the life and accomplishments of Enver Hoxha, who ruled Albania with an iron fist for more than four decades. The striking design, with its sleek triangular shape and white marble exterior, was intended to represent the strength and unity of the communist regime.

Post-Communist Transformation:

With the fall of communism in Albania in 1991, the pyramid lost its purpose as a museum and became a symbol of the regime that many wanted to leave behind. As Albania transitioned to a democratic society, the pyramid faced a series of transformations, reflecting the shifting perceptions and attitudes towards its historical significance.

Controversy and Neglect:

Over the years, the pyramid has become a subject of controversy and neglect. There have been numerous debates about whether the structure should be preserved as a reminder of Albania's communist past or demolished as a symbol of oppression. While some argue for its preservation as a historical monument, others see it as a painful reminder of a dark chapter in Albania's history.

Repurposing Efforts:

Various proposals have been put forward to repurpose the pyramid and give it a new lease on life. Ideas have ranged from transforming it into a cultural center, a conference venue, or a modern art museum. However, due to lack of consensus and limited resources, none of these proposals have come to fruition.

Symbolic Significance:

Despite its controversial status, the pyramid still holds a certain allure for visitors and locals alike. Many see it as a unique landmark, evoking curiosity and fascination. Its central location in Tirana's bustling city center ensures that it remains a constant reminder of Albania's past struggles and its ongoing journey towards a democratic future.

Conclusion:

The Pyramid of Enver Hoxha stands as a divisive and enigmatic presence in the heart of Tirana. It represents a significant era in Albanian history, igniting debates about memory, heritage, and the country's identity. Whether it ultimately meets its fate as a preserved historical monument or undergoes a transformation into something new, the pyramid will continue to provoke discussions and serve as a reminder of Albania's complex past.
