Wizz Air, the largest airline in Albania and the most environmentally sustainable in the world, has announced further expansion by adding an aircraft to its base in Tirana.
The A321neo is the 11th and most advanced aircraft that will increase the airline's capacity, enabling the addition of 3 new routes from Tirana to Bremen, Germany, Valencia, Spain, and Thessaloniki, Greece. This move brings the total number of airline routes from Albania to 56, including three recently announced new ones.
"The allocation of an additional aircraft allows us to further strengthen our offering for Albanian passengers, providing them with the opportunity to travel on 56 flights to 15 European countries and beyond. We believe our investment will help bring more visitors to this beautiful country and create new opportunities for businesses and communities throughout the region," said Communication Manager Valeria Bragarenco.
The decision to allocate new aircraft in Tirana is part of the airline's ongoing commitment to expand its flights in Albania.
"This new addition demonstrates the airline's confidence in the Albanian market. The new aircraft will increase capacity and routes, offering more opportunities for passengers and supporting the growth of tourism and business in the region. We remain committed to bringing more low-cost options for our Albanian passengers and look forward to continuing our cooperation with Wizz Air," said Piervittorio Farabbi, CEO of Tirana Airport.
Wizz Air's 10 existing routes will increase their flight frequency from Tirana. As for the new routes, the journey from Tirana to Thessaloniki will begin on August 14th. The flights will operate four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
