Foreign tourists have spent 624 million euros in Albania during the first three months of the year. In 2022, the amount spent was 408 million euros.

Tourists have spent 624 million euros in Albania in just the first three months of this year. This figure shows that expenses have increased by 53% compared to the beginning of last year when tourists spent 408 million euros in our country. There are two reasons for this significant increase. The higher influx of people coming and the increased prices, local media report.

The number of foreigners entering our country has increased by 48% this year. The overall price increase, including in tourism services, has also influenced these significant cash flows reported by the Bank of Albania.

We recall that during the entire year of 2022, tourists spent around 2.8 billion euros in the country, reaching record high levels.

Record levels of spending are also reported by Albanians abroad, with 434 million euros in the first three months of 2023.

This leads to a net balance between tourist expenses in Albania and Albanians abroad, reaching 190 million euros, the highest level ever recorded during this period of the year.
