Mujahideen woman protest in front of the Albanian police |
The residents of the Mujahideen camp in Manëz, Durrës, clashed with police forces due to the inspections carried out under the order of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime.
The police conducted court-ordered inspections based on suspicions of terrorism and cybercrime.
However, the residents of the MEK camp did not welcome these police inspections ordered by the SACC and clashed with the police.
They even claimed that a camp resident was killed and several others were injured. But this information is unofficial and remains only within the framework of the residents' claims. The spokesperson for the MEK camp has also issued a statement providing the residents' claims, but there is no official information.
On the other hand, the State Police denies this claim and states that there are no victims and that the information disseminated by the Mujahideen camp is false.
The State Police's inspection within the Mujahideen camp in Manëz started early in the morning and ended around noon, at around 12:00.
Meanwhile, the inspections carried out under the court order are part of the investigations conducted by SPAK (Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime) for terrorist crimes and cybercrimes. The order given by SACC so far is known to be for inspections only and there is no information about arrest warrants.
Inside the MEK camp in Manëz, the police found several computer servers used for cyber-attacks.
Local media sources reveal that these servers were used to launch cyber-attacks against foreign institutions.
The purpose of the police inspection ordered by SPAK and SACC was the seizure of equipment.
