Eva Buzo, Albanian-Australian, set off around 8 o'clock this morning - June 22nd - to undertake an epic feat: swimming across the Otranto Channel, from Salento city to the beach of Vlora in Albania (by June 30th). It will take approximately 40 hours of uninterrupted swimming.

The 36-year-old lawyer and human rights activist, who resides in Australia, started her journey from the White Lighthouse and is now swimming toward Vlora. She is accompanied by two support boats and a 12.50-meter vessel provided by Southeast Diving Otranto and Residence Altair, sponsors who have supported her from the beginning.

It is about a distance of about 80 kilometers that Eva hopes to do in about 40 hours, swimming at about 2 klm per hour.
