A serious incident happened on Vilë-Bashtova beach in the city of Kavaja. It is learned that the father and his two minor sons have drowned in the sea.
The Maritime Services intervened to save them, but all three citizens died as a result of the sea currents.
"On 09.07.2023, at Vilë-Bashtova beach, three citizens, members of the same family, drowned while swimming in the sea (50-year-old citizen, Elvis Halilaj and his two minor sons, about 13 and 15 years old, from Tirana), local medisa say.
Meanwhile, there was additional information from the local media regarding today's tragedy.
According to this information, the 55-year-old entered to save his sons, after he saw that they were drowning.
There were other vacationers and business owners in the area who tried to give first aid to the 3 people, but were unable to save any of them.
Meanwhile, vacationers say that the ambulance was delayed by about 40 minutes.
"If there was quick help, the other two would have been saved. The little one was killed, but the other two would have been saved if they had received emergency help," says one of the vacationers.
