Arnold Selishta |
A tragic accident took the life of a 22-year-old Albanian in Italy a few days ago.
The serious incident occurred around 02:00 on Saturday, July 8th, along the Monza-Saronno road, where Arnold Selishta lost his life. He was a passenger in a Range Rover and is suspected to have been involved in a racing event with other cars when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off the road, rolling several times before bursting into flames, Italian media say.
According to neighboring media reports, both the Range Rover and a BMW involved were traveling at speeds of up to 200 km/h. It seems that this excessive speed cost the young Albanian his life.
Selishta, the 22-year-old who resided in Limbiate, was extracted from the car by firefighting services and was rushed in critical condition to the hospital in Monza, where he unfortunately passed away shortly afterward.
Under investigation for this tragic accident is Arnold's 23-year-old cousin. He has been arrested and during his testimony before the investigators, he denied that they were racing with the cars.
"We weren't speeding; we entered the roundabout, and I was turning left as they do in Britain, then my cousin told me to turn right, so I changed direction. He hadn't fastened his seatbelt, while I had mine on, which saved my life," stated the 23-year-old during his testimony.
