Meanwhile, as English music is losing popularity in Switzerland, Albanian songs are making waves, albinfo.ch reports This is evidenced by a look at the broadcasting statistics for the first half of the year.

The newspaper "Tagesanzeiger" provides data for the whole of Switzerland. The most well-known languages are, not surprisingly, English (60 percent), standard German (15 percent), and French (8 percent). Spanish with 4.4 percent and Italian (2.1 percent) follow in the fourth and fifth places.

Last year, Swiss music (in the Swiss German dialect) had taken sixth place. Strangely enough, in the first half of 2023, it has already been surpassed by music in the Albanian language. Songs in the dialect make up 1.1 percent of the broadcasts, while those in the Albanian language, 1.2 percent, reports albinfo.ch. In terms of the number of entries, this makes a difference of 7.5 million.

The favorite song of the Swiss is "Flowers" by Miley Cyrus. This song has already been listened to 16.7 million times in Switzerland in 2023, putting it at the top with an advantage of over three million broadcasts, thus surpassing Rema's song "Calm Down."

Regarding the dialect, Swiss rapper EAZ (which is the pseudonym of the Albanian artist from Switzerland, Arbër Rama) has achieved a hit with "Juicy." "Juicy" has already been played 3.5 million times this year, as reported by albinfo.ch. This makes it the most successful song in the dialect and ranks it 15th among all languages.
