Prime Minister Edi Rama has revealed details to Euronews Albania about the visit that former US President Bill Clinton will make to Tirana on July 3.

"We will give him an Albanian welcome and the opportunity to get to know a little about Tirana. We will have a public event in front of the Prime Ministry on the evening of July 3 at 7:00 pm. He will speak and deliver a speech in front of the government, then he will leave from there, and we will have many guests," said the head of the government.

The Prime Minister stated that the visit of the former president has been kept secret only due to the change in Bill Clinton's agenda.

"I have invited President Clinton for some time now, this is a planned visit that has been anticipated for some time, which we have kept secret for some surprise that could be related to the agenda of the American President, and the meeting is a meeting to make President Clinton's presentation with Albania possible," said the Prime Minister.

The head of the Albanian government expressed that the invitation to visit our country was made several years ago, but opportunities for its realization have only recently been created. "He has been to Kosovo, he knows Kosovo, but he has never been to Albania, while for Albanians, he and his family have an extraordinary respect and affection, which I mentioned once, we experienced when we were invited to one of the 'Clinton Global Initiative' summits in New York. There were about 2,000 people from the business world, the media, civil society, and at the main table were; Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Hashim Thaçi, the late Bujar Nishani, and me. So, it was respect for Albania, for Albanians that put us at the main table even though there were other presidents and prime ministers, the Clinton family was sitting with us. Since then, I have told the President that he should come and visit Albania. We have had contact with the First Lady, we have a friendly relationship, and finally, the conditions have been created for the president to come," declared the head of the Albanian government.
