Prime Minister Edi Rama was received on Friday evening in Belgrade by President Aleksandar Vučić.

During the joint press conference, Vučić stated that despite differing views with Albania regarding the Kosovo issue, Serbia will continue to contribute to better relations between the two countries.

"We often talk about our differing views on the situation in Kosovo, but it wouldn't be right to say something here in the presence of the Albanian Prime Minister, and I don't believe he will either. We will leave further discussions for the evening. Despite our differing views with Albania, we will continue to contribute to better relations," said Vučić.

Prime Minister Rama, on his part, expressed that the only way forward is not the path of escalating tensions but the path of dialogue and consensus based on the Franco-German plan.

"We are sufficiently accustomed to express our opinions directly, to agree that we disagree, but this does not prevent us from collaborating and maintaining peace. In order to work and collaborate concretely, moments like this, which are specific moments, require us to avoid the division of all viewpoints in public from worsening the atmosphere. That's enough. The only way forward is not the path of escalating tensions but the path of dialogue and consensus based on the Franco-German plan. I don't want to repeat what I said in Pristina here in Belgrade, but I want to add that no one should underestimate the escalation of tension. Let's not waste endless time and energy on irreparable consequences," stated Rama.

We emphasize that a day ago Edi Rama was in Kosovo where he was received by President Vjosa Osmani but not by Prime Minister Albin Kurti with the argument that the meeting should be within the framework of the meeting of the two governments as in the previous years.
