Kastriot Ismailaj, the Albanian who was shot in the head in Catania

 
 Another young Albanian has tragically lost his life on Monday morning in Catania, Italy.

The victim, identified as Kastriot Ismailaj, 27 years old, passed away at 9:45 am today at Garibaldi Centro Hospital.

According to Italian media, he was critically injured by multiple gunshots that occurred in Nesima, inside a social housing unit at number 10.

His condition was serious, and the doctors were unable to perform surgery to remove a bullet that had lodged in his head.

Alongside the victim, who was undocumented in Italy, another injured person remained, a 43-year-old identified as Carmelo Leonardi. The latter, in addition to being shot, fell from the second floor of the building where the incident took place.

Meanwhile, a third person, suspected to be involved in the incident, appeared before the prosecutor this morning.

Giovanni Pasqualino Di Benedetto, 27 years old, is reported to have prior criminal records and has been arrested on charges of attempted murder.

Forensic experts are examining the weapon found inside the apartment's walls, and three bullet casings were found inside it.
