These are the Swiss municipalities with the largest percentage of Albanians

 Albanians (mainly citizens of Kosovo and Macedonia) officially constitute the fourth largest foreign community in Switzerland, after Germans, Italians, and Portuguese. However, in the German-speaking cantons of the country, they rank third, and in some of them, even second.

Nevertheless, the Federal Statistical Office has recently published a list of the ten municipalities with the highest percentage of Kosovar residents, as reported by blick.ch, which the Swiss newspaper in Albanian Canton27.ch it refers to.

Citizens with dual citizenship are not included in the calculations.

Egerkingen (Solothurn)

The municipality of Egerkingen ranks first. Here, the proportion of Kosovars in relation to the total number of residents is 9.3%, meaning 391 out of a total of 4221 inhabitants are Kosovars. Egerkingen is located directly on the highway and borders, among others, the municipalities of Härkingen, Hägendorf, and Neuendorf, as reported by albinfo.ch. Additionally, Egerkingen is very close to Olten.

Reinach AG

Reinach in the canton of Aargau ranks second in the ranking, with 9.2%. This village, together with Menziken, is an economic center in southern Aargau. The 9.2% corresponds to 838 people with Kosovar citizenship living in this locality. Reinach has 9108 residents.

Leibstadt AG

This village is best known for the nuclear power plant. Out of 1886 residents (year 2021), 157 are from Kosovo, which is 8.3%.

Triengen LU

What do toothbrushes, hair dryers, and small airplanes have in common? They are all connected to Triengen. The Swiss company Trisa has its headquarters here. It employs over 1000 people and supplies all of Switzerland. In addition to an airport for small airplanes, Triengen also has a large road network that can be used to travel quickly to Lucerne or Aarau. With a population of 4687 (as of 2021), 387 come from Kosovo – making up 8.3%.

Bottstein AG

Returning to the canton of Aargau, Böttstein is located on the Aare River in the Zurzach district. Out of 4063 residents (as of 2021), 8% are Kosovar citizens, which is 325 individuals, according to albinfo.ch. Just across the river Aare, on the other side, is Döttingen, which ranks 12th with 6.7% of Kosovars.

Birr AG

The proportion here is 7.7%. 354 out of 4573 residents are from Kosovo. Since the establishment of the energy company ABB (Brown, Boveri & Cie.) with factory buildings and residential areas in the 1950s, the municipality of Birr has experienced significant growth with a high percentage of travelers and foreigners. In addition to ABB, there is also a branch of General Electric currently in operation.

Spreitenbach AG

Spreitenbach is well-known to everyone. According to the Federal Statistical Office, the town of Spreitenbach has 12,162 residents (as of 2021) with a foreigner percentage above 50%. 921 residents come from Kosovo, accounting for 7.6%.

Tecknau BL

Tecknau in the canton of Basel-Landschaft is a very small community. It has a population of 813 residents (as of 2021), and 60 of them are Kosovars, representing 7.4% of Tecknau's population.

Dulliken SO

The second community from the canton of Solothurn on this list is located in the Olten district, as reported by albinfo.ch. Approximately 7.3 percent of the 5,200 residents of Dulliken come from Kosovo, which is 382 individuals.

Menziken AG

The composition of residents from Kosovo here is 7.2%. Menziken is located right next to Reinach. 483 out of 6706 residents are Kosovars..
