The Durrës Border Police continued with inspections this Tuesday, with the sole purpose of preventing incidents with consequences for the lives and health of holidaymakers. As a result, they seized 6 boats, 4 Jet Skis, 1 dinghy, and 1 inflatable boat.
The operators of these boats were fined with administrative penalties ranging from 10,000 to 20,000 lekë, for either missing documentation or for not registering ownership of the watercraft.
Through continuous monitoring of the coastal area and waters in the Durrës district, with the primary objective of ensuring the safety of citizens and holidaymakers, the services of the Maritime Police Unit and the Durrës Border Police have seized 6 other watercraft in Shëngjin, Spille, and Durrës, which were found to be operating illegally. Specifically:
► 4 Jet Skis were seized due to lack of documentation. Each driver was fined with an administrative penalty of 10,000 lekë.
► 1 dinghy and 1 inflatable boat were seized as their operators had exceeded the deadline set by the law for registering ownership of the watercraft. Each of these individuals was fined with an administrative penalty of 20,000 lekë.
