Kosovo and the US ink pact to secure classified data

 An agreement concerning security measures for safeguarding classified information has been signed by the governments of Kosovo and the United States of America.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the US Ambassador, Jeffrey Hovenier, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective governments, Kosovo media say.

Kurti emphasized its significance within the framework of security cooperation and protection of classified data. He expressed gratitude towards Ambassador Hovenier and the US Department of Defense, the implementing body of the Agreement, for the trust demonstrated and for enhancing bilateral ties through such accords.

Hovenier also commended noteworthy accomplishments in US-Kosovo relations. He highlighted that this agreement underscores their strong commitment to furthering security cooperation, while concurrently enhancing Kosovo's capacity to defend sovereignty and territorial integrity by sharing information with the US.

Through this recently signed agreement, both nations undertake commitments to safeguard each other's classified information, facilitating the exchange of such data.
