The Border Police of Morina has struck a case of undeclared cross-border money. A 37-year-old individual was attempting to bring into our country 32,450 euros and 140,000 Albanian lekë without declaring them in accordance with the current laws. The police seized the sum of money and have initiated legal proceedings against the 37-year-old.
As part of intensifying entrance/exit controls, carried out by the Morina Border Police, with a focus on preventing and combating illegal activities at the border and at the entrance of the Republic of Albania, the second line of action was initiated for detailed inspection of citizen A. L.
During the physical examination and inspection of this individual's bag, the Police services discovered 32,450 euros and 140,000 new Albanian lekë that citizen A. L. was attempting to bring into our country without declaring them according to the current laws, police reports.
Continuing with procedural actions, the investigative structures of DVKM Kukës referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where proceedings in a state of liberty were initiated against citizen A. L., 37 years old, residing in Shkodër, for the criminal offense of "Non-declaration of large sums of money and valuable items at the border."
Furthermore, as material evidence, the sum of money was confiscated.
