Years and lack of maintenance have caused its physical deterioration. However, the National Council of Cultural Heritage has decided to restore this church. It is learned that soon, cultural heritage specialists will start the work to restore the building, primarily focusing on the roof.

The restoration of the Church of Saint Friday marks one of the first investments by the Municipality of Fier in cultural heritage objects with an impact on tourism.

This church belongs to the 13th century, a medieval period, and represents a historical testament of the medieval town of Spinarica, a harbor settlement.
