The British flock to Albania, lured by the beaches and cheap prices

The British are flocking towards Albania as the country enjoys a tourism boom, thanks to picturesque beaches, reasonably priced hotels, and affordable restaurants.

This is reported by the British tabloid, Daily Mail, which cites travel experts in the country. According to the report, more than 120 thousand British citizens visit the Balkan state every year, and its tourism is having its most successful year yet with 3.4 million foreign visitors in the first 6 months of the year.

"The mountainous country is expected to be even more enticing this winter with the launch of new low-cost flights from Ryanair and Wizzair," writes the Daily Mail. The tabloid further adds that according to their study, a lunch or dinner for two people at an average-priced restaurant in Albania costs around 29 pounds in total, while a beer costs 1.67 pounds, this is what Daily Mail writes.

Berat is considered the least expensive city for beer. According to data from the lifestyle database Numbeo, Tirana emerges as the most expensive city for eating out, yet even there, a meal for two people only costs 33 pounds.

Hotel prices are also reasonable, claims the Daily Mail, citing ebooking.com data, stating that they average at 41 pounds per night for a 3-star hotel, 60 pounds for 4-star hotels, and 116 pounds for 5-star hotels.

The media, which has dedicated a series of articles to the issue of illegal Albanian immigrants, dismisses the claims of asylum seekers that Albania is an unsafe country and writes that our country is becoming a holiday destination for Britons seeking more affordable options abroad amid rising inflation.
