An individual has been arrested in the Belsh area on charges of deliberate arson, a criminal act that now carries a penalty of up to 15 years in prison for the perpetrators.
Upon receiving a report of a fire outbreak in the village of Lisaj, the services of the Police Commissariats of Cerrik and Belsh swiftly proceeded to the scene with the aim of clarifying the circumstances of the case and apprehending the perpetrator, State Police reports.
Based on information gathered by police intelligence, the Police services successfully identified and arrested the perpetrator of this arson case, a citizen named K. L., residing in Belsh.
This individual is suspected of igniting a fire on his property by reportedly discarding a lit cigarette, which led to the ignition of a blaze on his land. As a result of the flames spreading, around 15 hectares of forest land in the village of Lisaj, along with other areas planted with fruit trees, were burned.
