The unstoppable Luiza Gega sets a new national record in the "Diamond League"

 Luiza Gega continues to write the history of Albanian athletics with golden letters. The European champion has once again surpassed herself, achieving another remarkable feat by setting a new national record in the 3000 meters steeplechase.

This time, Gega amazed at the prestigious "Diamond League" event held in Zurich. The red and black champion clocked a time of 9:09.64 in today's evening race, thus imprinting another record in her incredible career. Luiza improved upon her previous time of 9:10.27, which she had set a year earlier at the World Championships in the USA.


The "Diamond League" featured the world's best athletes, and with a time of 9:09.64, Gega secured a fourth-place finish.

The entire Zurich podium was dominated by the top three from the Budapest World Championship, as Kenyan Mutile Winfred Yavi, representing Bahrain, took first place with a time of 9:03.19. Following her were two Kenyan athletes, Beatrice Chepkoech with a time of 9:03.70 and Faith Cherotich with a result of 9:07.59. Right behind them at the finish line came our champion, who continues to break boundaries, impressing on the world's most important athletics stages.
