In the latest update of the list of most wanted individuals in Europe by Europol, two Albanians have been included again: Aleks Burreli, wanted by Cyprus for triple homicide, and Edinjo Pulti, wanted by Luxembourg for attempted murder. The list has added several other foreign names, 17 of whom are considered highly socially dangerous.
Aleks Burreli, 55 years old, from the village of Suç i Matit, and Edinjo Pulti, 37 years old, from Shkodra, continue to be the only Albanians on Europol's "Most Wanted" list. In the most recent update, there are a total of 45 individuals from all over Europe wanted for serious criminal offenses, mostly crimes against persons, murder, and mass killings.
On this list, in the latest update, several foreigners wanted for murder have been added, but the two Albanians remain at large. Aleks Burreli, also known as Gani, is internationally wanted by Cyprus for the murder of a Cypriot businessman and others on June 23, 2016.
At that time, the 55-year-old Burreli opened fire at a table in a restaurant where businessman Fanos Kalopsidiotis was dining, leaving him dead along with two others at the table and injuring two more. Jani Vogli, then 41 years old and a collaborator of Burreli, was also killed in the same incident.
Burreli was the first person to be included in Europol's "Most Wanted" list, and he has not been located by partner agencies since then. A year later, another compatriot of his, Edinjo Pulti, was added to the list. The 37-year-old from Shkodra is wanted for arrest by Luxembourg for attempted murder. On August 2, 2020, he was involved in a brawl in Pétange. Several men, including one armed with a knife, fought in the city center.
