Lulzim Basha takes the important post in the Council of Europe in the confrontation against Russia

 The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, has taken on an important role beyond borders. It is reported that he has been appointed as the rapporteur for the confiscation of Russian assets and their use in repairing the damages caused by Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

The decision was made by the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, who voted unanimously in favor of Basha.

Earlier, the leader of the Democratic Party presented a draft resolution to the Council of Europe calling for the confiscation of Russian assets, the establishment of an international fund to deposit confiscated assets, and making these funds available for financing Ukraine's reconstruction projects.

Something similar has also been requested by the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, that is, for Russia to compensate the damages caused in Ukraine and cover the costs for the reconstruction of the country.

It is also known that a similar proposal is being discussed in the American Congress, as the war in Ukraine is still going on, despite the fact that the intensity of the fighting has decreased significantly compared to the same period a year ago.
