An unprecedented Balkan case involving Serbs has occurred in Banja Luka, the capital of Republika Srpska in Bosnia. This incident sheds light on the extent of Serbian nationalism, bordering on the absurd, where even Serbs find themselves embroiled in this absurdity.

The central figure in this episode was the Mayor of Banja Luka, Drashko Stanivuković, who climbed the scaffolding of a school to name it "Kosovo and Metohija." However, the school's director reminded him that it should be named "Vuk Karadžić" (the father of Serbian folklore) and not "Kosovo and Metohija."

"Director, is this Albania or Republika Srpska? Ma'am, I climbed up here, and I'll climb up with you, and no one can remove it..." Stanivuković insisted, referring to the name "Kosovo and Metohija" that he was adamant about.

However, Tatjana Vilendečić, the principal of the "Vuk Karadžić" primary school, argued that "without Vuk Karadžić, there is no Serbian identity, no Cyrillic, nothing," while Stanivuković retorted, "without Kosovo, there is nothing."
