With the start of the new academic year, 8 young people from the Preshevo Valley will also be studying at "Eqerem Çabej" University in Gjirokastër.
Even though they will be hundreds of kilometers away from their hometowns, they will receive financial support to secure free accommodation and complete their study cycle. Most of them have chosen the nursing field, not as a passport to leave their country but to serve their homeland, local media reports.
"The environment is fantastic, people are welcoming, and the culture is very rich, and the place is beautiful," said Besard Osmani, one of the students.
"It is very special because a diploma from Albania is recognized in our country, and our country needs young nurses. From the moment I came here, everyone has been very kind to us, and I like it a lot, and I will quickly adapt," said Albulena Ramadani, a student.
