Gërxhaliu, born in Vushtrri, is part of Antalyaspor in the Turkish Super League, although he is not currently getting playing time. He has also played in the youth ranks of this club and has a contract with them until 2026. His position is in the center.

With Silvinho taking over as the Albanian team's head coach, we have seen the approach of some young talents whom the Brazilian coach has confidently trusted in the starting lineup or playing minutes in the qualifying matches. Notable among them are Jasir Asani and Mario Mitaj.

Not to forget Marvin Cuni, Mirlind Daku, and Arbnor Muja. The latter two were part of Kosovo's national team in the past and have now played three matches with the red and blacks.

The same situation applies to Amar Gërxhaliu, who is reportedly favored by the national team staff. The tall defender was called up by Kosovo in June but did not debut. In September, he played a match with Kosovo U-21, having been part of Albania U-18 earlier, with only one appearance.

Currently, the National Team's defense is in a very good phase, not conceding a goal in the last five home matches. In eight matches, they have conceded only three times.

However, Gërxhaliu is on the radar of the red and black staff, and in the future, it is expected that he will receive an invitation to join the Albania national team.
