Starting from October 31, the Ryanair flight operator, known for its revolution in low-cost travel throughout Europe, will initiate flights to and from Albania.

Today, Michael O’Leary, the CEO of Ryanair, visited Tirana with his sales and operational teams to promote the launch of Ryanair flights to and from Tirana, commencing on Tuesday, October 31.

Ryanair has begun a 3-day promotional campaign on its 17 new routes to and from Tirana, with 50,000 seats available starting from 14.99 euros, for travel between November 2023 and March 2023 (although these seats must be booked by October 28 directly on the ryanair.com website).

O’Leary stated that the high capacity offered by Ryanair for the winter season in Tirana, with 17 destinations and over 200 weekly frequencies, demonstrates the extraordinary demand for truly low-cost travel for tourists coming to Albania, as well as for Albanian citizens.

As Europe's number one airline, Ryanair believes it can provide substantial and sustainable traffic and tourism growth, not just for this winter but for many years to come in Albania.

According to the press release, for a long time, the addition of new destinations and traffic in Albania has been hindered by high-cost airlines.

Starting this March, on October 31, the era of high fares will come to an end.

During a joint press conference with Ryanair's CEO, the Minister of Finance and Economy, Ervin Mete, said, "The arrival of a company like Ryanair, a name with so much experience in the European aviation industry, is expected to bring more diversification, opportunities, and, of course, in this specific case, more new destinations for direct flights to Tirana, such as Bucharest and Prague."

During his speech, the Minister emphasized that tourism in the country has seen growth this year, and Albania has already become an almost year-round preferred destination.

According to the latest INSTAT figures, approximately 8.3 million tourists visited the country in the first nine months, with the month of September closing with 1.1 million foreign visitors, about 45% more than last year.
