Dr. Sallabanda, a specialist in Neurosurgery, was interviewed via Skype from Spain on Albanian local media," where he shared the remarkable journey that led him to this prestigious recognition.
Dr. Sallabanda's background and experiences are an inspiring testament to his dedication to the medical field. He began by reflecting on his early life, revealing his roots in Berat, a well-known city in Albania. Born in Berat, he later moved to Tirana, where he completed his secondary education. His academic journey continued with enrollment at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tirana.
In 1989, he embarked on a path of specialization that took him to Barcelona, Spain. Over the course of five years, he honed his skills and gained invaluable experience as a general practitioner in Maqellare, Peshkopi, Albania. Dr. Sallabanda fondly described this period as one of the most beautiful chapters of his life, emphasizing the significant role that Maqellare played in shaping his medical career.
Upon completing this formative phase, Dr. Sallabanda pursued further studies and specialization in Barcelona. His professional journey led him to return to Albania between 1997 and 2000, during which he held the role of Consul of Spain in Tirana. This position proved to be pivotal, allowing him to offer assistance during the Kosovo conflict and the tumultuous events of 1997.
The year 2000 marked a new chapter for Dr. Sallabanda as he relocated to Spain. His career in Neurosurgery continued to thrive, garnering respect and recognition on a global scale. Over the course of more than 25 years, he has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field.
Among other things, he said in the interview that his mother is originally from Spain, was a child sent to the former Soviet Union after the civil war in Spain with an agreement and his father is from Berat, they met in Russia while they were textile technology students.
