 U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has congratulated Albania on its 111th Independence Day. In a statement published on the official website of the U.S. Department of State, Blinken commends Albania for the close cooperation, emphasizing that the ties between the two countries remain steadfast.

The American Secretary adds that the United States is proud to have allies like Albania in promoting human rights worldwide.

On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the government and people of Albania and wish you a joyous celebration for the 111th Independence Day.

The United States is proud to work with you as allies and NATO partners committed to strengthening Albania's efforts for judicial reform, advancing our cooperation on cybersecurity, and continuing our unwavering support for Ukraine in the face of Russia's aggression. We thank you for your generous and open-hearted welcome to the Afghan people, and we strongly support your full integration into the Euro-Atlantic community, particularly through progress in legal and governance reforms and toward European Union membership.

Albania's recent election to the UN Human Rights Council is an international acknowledgment of the strong progress your nation has made in recent decades and recognition of its exemplary service from 2015-2017. We are proud to stand alongside Albania and look forward to working together to promote and protect human rights worldwide.
