The Central Bank of Kosovo and Kosovo Police, the Forensic Agency of Kosovo, Customs of Kosovo, the Tatimore Administration of Kosovo, the Financial Intelligence Unit, the Inspection of Trade and the Forensic Agency of Kosovo are urgently required for the intensification of institutional measures to combat and counterfeit bills that are circulating, Monitor reports.
The alarm is particularly raised about the 2 euro coin.
The 2 euro coin has been alerted by a state, in this case Kosovo.
As the first, all financial and security institutions have joined to "clean" the false 2 euro coin that has been pushed into the market.
In fact, the Central Bank, Kosovo Police, the Forensic Agency of Kosovo, Customs of Kosovo, the Tatimore Administration, the Financial Intelligence Unit, the Inspection of Trade and the Forensic Agency of Kosovo are urgently required for the intensification of institutional measures to combat and counterfeit bills.
"Based on these discussions, institutions are in agreement on a working plan, which includes the initiation and implementation of regulatory measures from institutions according to the areas of competence related to the use and circulation of coins and the return and financial protection. In the course of this plan, there is also a review of the interest rate deposit of coins from BQK, advancement of inter-institutional cooperation and the financial sector, as well as the promotion of the use of electronic payment methods, as part of the financial education curriculum".
With strong emphasis, citizens are encouraged to stop using available coins (especially the 2 euro coin) and to increase the number of bank cards during the payment process.
"Concrete measures are also required from banks and other financial institutions, to enhance their internal and external addressing capabilities and communication with supervisory authorities".
Therefore, it is recommended that businesses should only be supplied by banks with available money, which are supplied by the main bank of BQK, while the verification of money before joining the investigation is recommended.
Head of the Forensic Agency of Kosovo, Milazim Tahirukaj, said that Kosovo is an open market for the counterfeiting of counterfeit money, as it does not have its own coin.
"The source and origin of the counterfeiting of coins or banknotes can be identified from the method of counterfeiting to the clandestine laboratory, which is identified as being in Kosovo, Macedonia, or Bulgaria. We have cases coming from the regions and municipalities in Kosovo, where it is clear that Kosovo uses the euro and euro banknote, while in the regions and municipalities there are their own banknotes, so Kosovo is an open market for the counterfeiting of counterfeit banknotes".
And why Kosovo is filled with false money, Tahirukaj said that this situation can also be greater.
"I have a period where there were counterfeit 2 euro and 1 euro coins, and since then many doubts have started about counterfeiting the 2 euro coin."
No one asks for 2 euros
The 2 euro coin has been around for a long time, during the past 2023 months in Kosovo, it has caused a big problem.
The problem was created by the enormous counterfeiting of this coin and the placement of these bills in the financial market of this country, but also from the disputes created by many individuals and legal entities for the counterfeiting of a large number of this coin.
In the last months of Kosovo, the 2 euro coin has been refused in many cases.
Publicly, this coin has also affected some public companies.
The Regional Public Services Company "Prishtina", which in the month of January this year had declared that "the company has set a month earlier not to accept any 2 euro coins for payment from customers for the services this company provides", and also Prishtina Parking, which has also started to refuse several consumers to accept the 2 euro coin in exchange for money, asking that the value from 2 euros is reduced to 1 euro.
