Authorities in Albania announced that an Albanian woman with her four minor children has been evacuated from the Gaza Strip and will travel to Albania.

Albania's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, stated that it took three weeks of effort to extract them from the besieged Gaza, as the conflict between Israel and Hamas – an organization declared a terrorist group by the United States and the European Union – continues in Gaza.

"Thanks to the authorities of Israel and Egypt, and the Albanian embassies in both states for their good work in this situation and complex operation," said Hasani.

The mother and her four children are currently in Egypt, undergoing procedures to be sent to Albania. Sources indicate that the woman does not have an Albanian passport, but her name appears in the civil registry records in Albania. She has a Palestinian father and an Albanian mother. Her father was a student in Albania in the '70s, and after marriage, they moved to Palestinian territories.

It is learned that the evacuated Albanian woman's husband is Palestinian, and it has been impossible for him to leave Gaza as he has not been allowed by the authorities.

Albania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that they are working on the swift and safe return of other citizens in Gaza. Among them is the brother of the evacuated woman, along with his family.

Earlier, Albania's ambassador to Israel, Meri Kumbe, stated that there is no information about other Albanian citizens in Gaza. However, these citizens themselves contacted the embassies in Israel and Egypt to seek assistance.

Meanwhile, since the beginning of the Israel-Hamas conflict in early October, 71 Albanians have left Israel, with 40 arriving in Tirana on October 8 through a direct flight from Tel Aviv. Two days later, another 20 were evacuated through a flight organized by Greece, and 11 Albanian citizens were evacuated through a flight organized by Montenegro.
