Extradited from France to Albania, an individual wanted for a series of serious criminal offenses.
The extradited 43-year-old, declared internationally wanted as part of the police operation codenamed "Metamorphosis."
As a result of the ongoing collaboration between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Paris, for the apprehension of individuals wanted internationally and their extradition to the countries where they are to serve their sentences, the Albanian citizen:
B. B. (B. R. alias B. B.), 43 years old, resident in Shkodra.
This citizen was apprehended and arrested in France in September, thanks to the exchange of information between the Albanian and French police, provided by intelligence agencies, regarding his whereabouts.
The 43-year-old had been internationally wanted by Interpol Tirana as part of the police operation codenamed "Metamorphosis," conducted in August by the structures of the State Police, in collaboration with the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime.
For this individual, the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime has imposed the security measure of "Imprisonment," for criminal offenses such as "Premeditated Murder," committed particularly in collaboration with an organized criminal group, "Unauthorized Possession and Production of Firearms, Explosive Weapons, and Ammunition," "Organized Criminal Group," "Commission of Criminal Offenses by a Criminal Organization or Organized Criminal Group," "Provision of Conditions and Means to Commit Murder," committed particularly in collaboration with an organized criminal group, "Participation in an Organized Criminal Group," and "Active Corruption of a Judge, Prosecutor, and Other Justice Officials, committed in collaboration."
The citizen B. B. is suspected of having, in collaboration with other individuals, murdered citizen Gj. B. (N.) on August 9, 2020, in Shkodra. It is also suspected that he organized and coordinated his collaborators, provided them with information about the whereabouts of opponents, to organize ambushes with the aim of their murder.
From the investigations conducted by the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, there are reasonable suspicions based on evidence that the citizen B. B., by offering monetary sums to justice officials, facilitated premature release from prison.
The extradited citizen was handed over to the General Directorate of Prisons.
