Drini Bardhi was the first doctor to visit the late Raphael Dwamena. The cardiologist from Kavaja spoke in a direct connection with local media revealing what had happened in December of last year.
Bardhi stated that in the basic tests, Dwamena had been in very good health. According to him, he should have played football. Meanwhile, he revealed that he had asked the footballer if he had had any previous heart problems, but he denied such a thing.
"I am the first one who visited him. He presented himself to my clinic on December 20th of last year. I was contacted by the physiotherapist of Egnatia. I examined him; there was nothing special. I did an echo, it was a normal echo. Meanwhile, there was a mark on the left side of the chest. I asked him if he had experienced any problems before. I told him, have you ever worn a device or something like that? I placed a loop recorder, which records the heart rhythm for a long time.
I came out of the other room, and we did the stress test. I performed a 12-minute stress test. There is also a bit of speculation, perhaps unintentionally. They say he was stopped in Europe and allowed to play in Albania. It's not true; it is rumored that he had 6-7 teams he switched. This means that in the initial tests, he came out negative. When the disease emerged, he had a cardiac arrest on the field. In the basic tests, he tested negative. Genetic heart diseases are not detected with simple tests.
