Journalist Aida Topalli, speaking on "Good Morning Albanians," mentioned that smuggled medicines in our country mainly originate from the countries where they are produced.

Nevertheless, she stated that criminal groups, realizing the significant profits from medicine smuggling, sometimes source them from other countries but market them as if they were from the country of production.

"Medicines are primarily smuggled where there are no original productions, where there is also a market shortage. Smuggled medicines primarily come from the countries of origin, not specific countries; they are from Germany and developed countries worldwide.

These medicines are smuggled because there is a demand for higher-quality products. Criminal groups understand that they profit greatly from this type of smuggling, so they don't always acquire smuggled medicines from developed countries, but they sell them as such," said journalist Topalli.
