Albania is far behind Serbia and Greece in military strength. The well-known portal "Global Firepower," which analyzes the armed forces of countries worldwide, has published the latest ranking of the most powerful armed forces in 2023.

The list includes 145 countries, and Albania is positioned at 91st place globally, despite being considered a state in improvement.

Turkey leads in the Balkans, followed by Greece, Romania, and Serbia, while Albania holds the 8th position, leaving behind only North Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia, and Kosovo.

The ranking is primarily based on military strength, but various factors are taken into account during compilation, such as the level of sophistication of military equipment, finances, geography, and resources.

Another factor is the quantity of military equipment and troops each country possesses. According to the list of the most powerful armies in 2023, as expected, the United States ranks first, followed by Russia, China, India, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and Pakistan.

The three countries with the weakest armed forces globally are Moldova, Benin, and Bhutan. However, it should be emphasized that the list is based on conventional weapons, and nuclear capabilities are not considered a decisive factor.
