"Bayraktar" drones, soon part of the Albanian army

Through a post on social networks, the Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi, has written that the Armed Forces of Albania will receive an additional fleet of "Bayraktar" drones from Turkey.

"The 'Bayraktar' drones, which will soon become part of our Armed Forces, are the highest technology in flights used for military, police, and civilian missions. The completion of Albania with this drone fleet is of particular importance for our national security and that of the Alliance, as it adheres to the obligations arising from the National Security Strategy, Military Strategy, and NATO Capacity Objectives.

Committed to using the most advanced technology in the defense of our territory," writes Peleshi, while also sharing a video of the Bayraktar drones.

A year ago, Albania signed an agreement to purchase 3 "Bayraktar" drones, but it is still unclear whether the minister refers in the latest post to the drones for which the agreement was signed a year ago or if others will become part of the Albanian military.

The TB2 drone has a wingspan of 12 meters and can release bombs to destroy tanks and artillery with the help of a laser. TB2 can stay in the sky for up to 27 hours and fly up to 150 kilometers from its base. It is equipped with 4 missiles, and its maximum bomb drone weight is up to 650-700 kg.
