Iranian hackers attack the website of the Albanian Parliament and some companies "for Christmas"

The online page of the Parliament of Albania was hacked on Monday, making it impossible to access it on the internet.

The responsibility for this cyber attack has been claimed by the hacking group "Homeland Justice." They have acknowledged the attacks and have also issued a message on their social media group on "Telegram."

"Those who have taken the seats in the parliament will also pay. The corrupt deputies will soon be destroyed. The demons within them will demonstrate against anyone seeking to know the truth," says the published message.

In addition to the Parliament's website, the hackers of "Homeland Justice" have also targeted other online pages of some major companies operating in Albania. However, these companies have managed to restore online access.

This is not the first time that the "Homeland Justice" hackers have attacked online pages of Albanian institutions. Earlier, sensitive data of citizens and Albanian officials were published, and there were attacks on the police's "TIMS" system.

The prosecution authorities in Albania have initiated an investigation into these attacks, and a request to shut down the Homeland Justice group on Telegram has been made to Russia, as the servers are located in that country.

On September 7, 2022, Albania accused Iran of being the author of a massive cyber attack that hit the government's information technology systems, paralyzing all online services for several days.

Prime Minister Edi Rama announced the "immediate effect" suspension of diplomatic relations with Iran due to this attack. On the same day, the United States condemned the cyber attack against a NATO ally and stated that they had concluded that Iran was behind it.
