A success story of a young Albanian emerging from the auditoriums of the Polytechnic University of Tirana was revealed today on the show "Our Day."
The protagonist is Oltion Prifti, who, after completing his bachelor's studies at UPT in 2012, managed to become the first Albanian employed by Elon Musk through work and dedication in the technology sector.
After a previous experience in Sweden, the young Albanian has been employed as an automation engineer at Tesla's offices in Berlin.
He told A2 CNN that he is currently engaged in the production of batteries for the latest generation of electric cars, including the Cybertrack.
"I graduated in electronic engineering. I first heard about Tesla in 2021 when I finished my Bachelor's at the Polytechnic University in Tirana. It's a long story that started when I moved to Sweden. In Albania, I worked more as a web developer, but I preferred the engineering part more. In 2014, I applied to many companies, especially in Scandinavia, and in 2015, I received a job offer for Sweden, and there was the first job where I focused on the engineering part of programming and development. In 2019, I had a project with a Swedish company in California, and it impressed me that over 50% working for this client were former Tesla employees. There I came into contact with people, and I started to get interested. In 2021, I started applying to Tesla in California, meanwhile, they contacted me after 5 months from Berlin, as America did not allow the entry of foreign citizens due to COVID. That's where it started. Currently, I am involved in the development of all parts of the battery cells' production, which is the latest technology that Tesla is producing for the latest generation of electric cars."
When asked if he had managed to meet Elon Musk, Oltion revealed that he faced him at the company's offices in Berlin, which the CEO of Tesla and the X platform visit every three months.
"To talk, no. Once every three months. He is like a machine that doesn't stop working. He can only take one day off a year, and you have that in every company he manages."
