Albanian Skier Lara Colturi Impresses in World Cup Competition

 Albanian skier Lara Colturi continues to make a mark on the international stage, achieving another commendable result in the World Cup. Colturi finished in 12th place, trailing the winner of the giant slalom race, Swiss skier Lara Gut-Behrami, by 2.43 seconds.

Colturi's outstanding performance in Italy raises hopes for bringing pride and potentially a medal to Albania in the upcoming World Championships. The young skier has garnered high expectations from fellow athletes, and the President of the Albanian Ski Federation, Mr. Elvis Toci, expressed his satisfaction with Lara's success in an interview with the Swiss newspaper Le Canton27.ch. Toci stated, "Lara Colturi is shining the red and black flag in every race, and it makes us proud. Hopefully, one day she will lead as the best skier in the world. The next two years will be dedicated to Albania and Lara."

At just 17 years old, Lara Colturi has achieved another remarkable result for Albania in the World Cup, solidifying her position among the top 15 skiers globally. Meanwhile, the national ski team is gearing up for participation in the upcoming World Junior Championships, with the aim of securing medals.

Expectations are also high for Kevin Qerimaj, who finished first in two competitions in Kronplatz, Italy. The goal is to have another Albanian skier beside Lara Colturi entering the medal zone at the World Junior Ski Championships in France.

Lara Colturi earned an additional 22 points in the overall World Cup standings. The giant slalom race took place at the Ski Center in Kronplatz.

In the overall standings, Gut-Behrami leads with 585 points in giant slalom, followed by Brignone with 500 and Hector with 452.

In the general ranking, Shiffrin tops the list with 1209 points, followed by Gut-Behrami with 1114 and Brignone with 878.
