Two Albanian Nationals Extradited from France to Face Charges in Albania

 Two Albanian citizens, apprehended by the French police, have been extradited to Albania on Wednesday, thanks to the collaboration between the Interpol offices in Tirana and Lyon.

One of them is the former director of the Cadastre in Kurbin, sentenced to 5 years in prison for abuse of duty.

"Kastriot Piroli, 52 years old, residing in Kurbin, former director of the Kurbin Cadastre Office. Specialists in the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes of DVP Lezha executed the decision of the Kurbin District Court, which sentenced this citizen to 5 years in prison for the criminal offense of 'Abuse of Duty,' committed in collaboration."


The second individual is a former police officer from the Himara precinct, accused of favoring criminal groups in the cultivation and sale of narcotics.

"I. J., 42 years old, residing in Vlora, former police employee. Specialists in the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes of DVP Vlora executed the security measure 'Arrest in prison,' determined by the Vlora Court, with the decision dated 13.12.2020, for the criminal offense 'Abuse of Duty.' This individual is accused of, during the time he served as SPZ in the administrative unit Horë, municipality of Himara, favoring various citizens engaged in the criminal activity of cultivating narcotics through his actions and inactions."
