Additionally, imports of poultry from Sweden, Bulgaria, and France have been halted due to the avian influenza outbreak.
Avian Influenza (AI) is a highly contagious viral disease that affects a variety of domestic poultry species, as well as birds kept as pets and wild birds in the respiratory, digestive, and/or nervous systems. It is caused by the Influenza A virus and is also known as "Bird Flu."
These measures have been taken to prevent the spread of these diseases within Albania and to safeguard the health of both animals and humans. The bans on imports will remain in place until the situation is brought under control and deemed safe by Albanian authorities.
The outbreaks of avian influenza and dairy disease highlight the importance of vigilance and strict biosecurity measures in the global trade of agricultural products to prevent the spread of diseases that can have significant economic and health impacts.
