Customs officers stopped the two Albanians on the A63 highway as they were reportedly traveling from Germany towards Spain.
The car of the Albanians was inspected with the assistance of a police dog, and it was precisely the dog that uncovered the hidden sum of money in a double-bottomed suitcase.
Following verifications, it was revealed that there were €340,000 in the Albanians' car, which they had not declared as required by the law.
The names of the two detainees are not disclosed for investigative reasons, as the police suspect that the Albanians were couriers transporting money secured by drug groups.
