Albanian authorities have intercepted 46 kilograms of explosives originating from Kosovo and arrested three young men from Gjilan.

The Director of the Tirana Police, Tonin Vocaj, stated that a criminal group from Kosovo has been trafficking weapons and explosives from Kosovo into Albania.
"During a police operation on February 4 near the Gjolla Bridge in Fushë Krujë, we arrested in flagrante delicto Kosovar citizens: Rigon Maliqi, 20 years old, Lion Pira, 25 years old, and Shkëlqim Halabaku, 27 years old, all residing in Gjilan," Vocaj announced.
He explained that during this operation, 203 packs containing suspected explosive material, believed to be tritol, weighing 46 kilograms, were seized. Vocaj noted that this quantity of explosives was suspected to be intended for use by various criminal groups within the territory of the Republic of Albania.
Images released by the State Police showed that the packs of explosive material were hidden in crates of fruit juices.
Additionally, the police seized three cell phones and one vehicle.
Earlier, two operations were conducted where two individuals were arrested, and four firearms, including pistols, along with belts and military ammunition, were seized. These items were trafficked from Kosovo into Albania.
